Four short, distinct pages — About, Contact, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use — kept together here so anything you're looking for is one scroll or tap away. Jump to a section above, or read straight through.
Shop for any used car online and you'll see the same pattern: a discount percentage measured against an "original" price nobody can verify, a warranty claim that doesn't say whether coverage is actually active, a monthly payment estimate with no stated rate or term behind it. None of it is necessarily false — but it's rarely labeled well enough for a shopper to know what they can rely on.
Clear Auto Choice started as a personal project: a rigorous way to line up real listings against each other while keeping every number honestly sourced. We turned it into a free tool because the same problem shows up in every car search, electric or gasoline, new or used.
We won't blend a confirmed number with a guessed one without saying which is which. We won't pick financing assumptions for you. If a number can't be sourced, the tool says so instead of showing something plausible-looking in its place. The comparison tool can draft in a price, mileage reading, or MSRP by reading a listing link you paste in — but we never present that draft as researched fact. Every field it fills is flagged unverified right on the vehicle's row until you've checked it against the actual listing yourself.

Comparison entries and saved shopping preferences are stored in your browser. When you submit the My Preferences form, the site also saves the submitted preference profile on its server. That profile can include your ZIP code, budget, financing preferences, and vehicle requirements; the form does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
If you create an account, the site stores your email address, a password hash, account preferences, and account activity such as appraisal-report requests and their payment status. Report requests can include a vehicle identification number, mileage, ZIP code, and dealer type. Account records are stored outside the publicly served website folder.
If you submit an EV for sale, the site stores the contact information and vehicle details you provide, along with any photos. After review and approval, listing details are shown publicly. Seller contact details are initially hidden and may be shown to buyers after the 24-hour period described on the listing page.
If you use the contact form, your name, email address, subject, and message are sent to our support inbox so we can respond.
Payments are handled through Stripe checkout. The site records payment and order status but does not receive or store your full card number. Signed-in account features use a session cookie. Shopping preferences may also be saved in your browser storage.
When you request a vehicle identification number decode, the VIN is sent to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vPIC service. Appraisal lookups send the information needed for the requested valuation to MarketCheck. The financing page retrieves public rate data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis FRED service. Payments go through Stripe. Those services handle requests under their own terms and privacy practices.
The site uses the session cookie needed for account sign-in and browser storage for shopping preferences. We do not currently use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact section above.

Clear Auto Choice provides vehicle comparison and shopping tools, an EV inventory, seller-submitted listings, financing and ownership-cost estimates, and optional paid appraisal reports. Some figures come from government or commercial data providers; others depend on user or seller submissions. The site is not a vehicle seller, lender, or substitute for your own inspection and verification.
Figures you enter — price, mileage, MSRP, warranty status, and similar details — are only as accurate as what you enter, and we do not independently verify them. Vehicle identification number lookups are provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and may be incomplete or delayed for very recent model years. Monthly payment estimates are calculations based on the assumptions you provide and do not constitute a loan offer, pre-approval, or guarantee of financing terms from any lender.
Seller-submitted listings are reviewed before publication. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of the information and photos they submit. Any listing or appraisal-report fee is shown before checkout; checkout and payment processing are handled by Stripe. A paid appraisal report is a data-based estimate, not a guarantee of a vehicle's condition or sale price.
